I am an innovator in the field of mechanical wooden toys. My hope is to use wood to embrace the innocence and beauty in our hearts, so that each piece of my work can bring us peace between motion and stillness, and at the same time, our worries disappear. This is the original goal of my choice in this field.
For me, every piece of wood is serene and gentle, symbolizing growth and resilience. Just like my life. I was once troubled by speech stuttering, and I am also a very isolated person. In fact, I don't like interacting with people much in life, but I still long to be understood in my heart. As my work became more and more recognized by everyone, at that moment, it really gave me a lot of encouragement, and later I gradually became more confident.
Mechanical wooden toys are a form of installation art that has not developed significantly in China, due to the difficulty of manufacturing and assembling them. Currently, most mechanical devices are manually operated, and I thought at the time: Can I express this diversity and ingenuity in mechanical wooden toys automatically?
In fact, each piece of work takes a long time and a great deal of experience, as handcrafting them entails minor deviations, and these deviations can cause inconsistencies in movement and stillness. We use wood to express our love for life because it is naturally strong, gentle, and full of vitality.
Trees grow from seeds to tall trees and must endure many external pressures, but they silently transform them into a driving force for growth.
Rain nourishes all plants, and everything in its time. We can pursue our favorite hobby at the right age and feel that every day is full of happiness and satisfaction. In fact, this is the age of a person’s maturity. We hope that mechanical wooden toys can be integrated with traditional Chinese art of dowels and nails, which is only possible if many people like it and come to understand it.
